COVID-19 Can't Stop the Growing of Global Rainbow Crossing Movement

Since 2018, the "Global Rainbow Crossing Festival" has been held in Taiwan for two consecutive years. Due to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, in order to prevent the invasion of the epidemic, all countries have begun to adopt very strict immigration control, which affects all kinds of physical activities within each country. At the same time, because the Taiwan Rainbow Crossers Rights Association is conducting the case registration work, under the limitation of manpower and the epidemic, this year’s physical Global Rainbow Crossing Festival activities in Taiwan have chosen to be suspended, and instead prepare for various small forums, The Human Library and other types of activity globally.

Although COVID-19 seems to have forced the world to close its national borders, thanks to the modern technology, the global Rainbow Crossing movement has found a way that is not restricted by national borders and continues to speak out to the world. In 2020, in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, there will still be various forms of Rainbow Crossing movement going on continuously. Through the Internet, it has connected with global Rainbow Crossers from more countries and partners who are concerned about gender issues.

At the end of the year, after Hong Kong hosted the first Hong Kong Rainbow Crossing Festival, the "2020 Global Homecoming Festival" was also held in Singapore. The Managing Director and Secretary General of TRCRA were also fortunate to participate in the sharing of one passage through life. The sharing of experience, look at the gender movement in this era. At the 2020 Global Homecoming Festival in Singapore this time, about partners from more than 50 countries and regions around the world participated in the meeting together through real-time translation online.

From the first Global Rainbow Crossing Festival, 16 countries and regions around the world have been connected; the second, it has increased to 23, and it will continue to connect from more than 50 countries in 2020. I believe that the voice of cross rainbow will be heard and valued by society more and more, so that gender equality can be discussed more completely and equally.
